This is a marketing newsletter for scientists, founders and anyone interested in building a company in life science. You are subscribed to this newsletter.

One thing I learned as a freelancer is that you can’t delegate everything, at least not a 100%.

I do not mean you have to micromanage. I mean you need at least foundational knowledge. Enough to know whether the people working for you are doing a decent job or not.

A clear example is scientists and marketing. If you have a startup under 10 people and you reach the conclusion that you need marketing, which you probably do, you need to know the basics.

You do not need to understand how to set up the audience for a LinkedIn ad. You need to understand what things are for and you need to understand the purpose of each action.

For example, why are we sending an email while we are making a LinkedIn post about the same topic. You might think that we could skip the email entirely and nobody would notice, unless you understand why it was there in the first place.

This is why founders need to understand the basics. Not the execution but just the reasoning behind it.

And that is why I have started this newsletter: short and concise marketing knowledge for founders to get started.

Talk to you soon,

Alejandra Carreira
